'BATMAN: an optimised instrumentation for missilestrials on a rail track'

This paper presents a description of BATMAN, a new instrumentation designed for acquiring and processing data collected during a trial of machines (missiles, aircrafts, vehicles...) on a rail-track, conducted by the Centre d'Essais des Landes(Missiles-Test-Range, France).System features to be discussed include: the acquisition of data from multiple sources by telemetry (coded on irig FM multiplex, PCM up to 20 Mbits/s, and local discrete and analog signals), the digital data recording, the implementation of testmeasurements data base system for analysing the data and staring the results.BATMAN is designed with standard Windows NT, PC products and European softwares: VuSoftNT (for real time operations) and Dynaworks (for post-processing, archiving and tests traceability).This system permits us to deliver to the contractors, the main results immediately after the trial, and the report with processed data, few hours later.
