Vnesheconombank (VEB) will buy about 3% of shares in RUSAL during the company's forthcoming IPO offering, several sources close to the VEB and RUSAL's supervisory boards told Vedomosti. VEB chairman Vladimir Dmitriyev said: "The issue has been considered, decisions made. Any information related to the allocation of the RUSAL shares is confidential." The corporation could spend 500-600 million dollars. It will raise this money from selling Russian blue chips VEB already has.
