ECLER: supervision and control system for a Paris region line

Under its new commercial policy, SNCF (French Railways) targets total quality through initiatives targeting five major priorities: - arrival punctuality; - station access; - clean trains and stations; - security; - passenger information on incidents. In the event of major traffic disruptions owing to constraints on rail resources, the train offer will be adapted in real-time. And if rail service is interrupted altogether, replacement services (e.g. bus or metro) will be offered. Under the ECLER project run by the SNCF Research and Technology Department, special software is to be developed with a view to meeting these objectives.
