摘要

Modern oil and gas fuelled Diesel generators with capacities ranging from 1 to 65 MW are ideal for local combined heat and power plants where a low environmental impact is important. Diesel generators are mainly used for base and semi-base load generation, for supplying peak or stand-by power, and in compressor and combined heat and power applications. The de sign of each generator takes account of the local conditions in terms of the fuel and space available, the type of power to be generated and applicable environmental standards. Diesel systems are the subject of considerable research effort with the aim of improving efficiency (by means of hot combustion and combined cycles) and reducing emissions of CO{sub}2 and NO{sub}x through water injection.
