GAZPROM SAYS RUSSIAN PIPE MILLS LIKELY TO WIN TENDERS

(Interfax) - Russian pipe mills have a "great chance" of winning tenders to supply pipes for gas pipeline projects, Alexander Ananenkov, Gazprom's deputy chief executive, said on March 15 during a visit to the Vyksa Metals Plant, the core enterprise of United Metallurgical Company (OMK)."The 1,420-millimeter pipes that Vyksa will supply to Gazprom have better quality characteristics than the pipes used to build gas transport systems in Russia in the past," said Ananenkov, who discussed supplies for North European Gas Pipeline (NEGP) and other projects involving Gazprom with OMK management.
