ASHA STEEL WORKS BOOSTS STEEL PLATE EXPORTS 42 PERCENT IN 4 MTHS

Asha Steel Works (AMZ), a producer of roll, amorphous and electrical sheet steel in the Chelyabinsk region, boosted steel plate exports to non-CIS countries 41.7 percent year-on-year in January-April to 61,665 tonnes, the company told Interfax. AMZ sold a total of 140,742 tonnes of steel plate, down 21.5 percent year-on-year, including 72,524 tonnes to Russian consumers, down 44.1 percent; 6,553 tonnes to the CIS, up 7.5 percent; and the 61,665 tonnes to non-CIS countries.
