The scheduled trip to Coleman's Quarry had to be re-organised as that quarry has now been put on a care and maintenance basis. The alternative organised was Machen Quarry in South Wales. Machen Quarry always provides a pleasant surprise and this trip was no exception. As a result of the additional distance from the normal collecting area for the Southern Branch, a few planned attendees dropped out and five members made the journey. However, the distances travelled were not small, a new member had travelled from near London and another member came from the West Midlands.
