I read with interest the articles titled "Manual Rotation to Decrease Operative Delivery in Posterior or Transverse Positions" by Le Ray et al1 and "Effect of Rotation on Perineal Lacerations in Forceps-Assisted Vaginal Delivery" by Bradley et al.2 There is evidence for pelvic floor trauma occurring in one third of nulliparous women undergoing vaginal birth3 and an association with operative delivery and stress urinary incontinence.
