Kinetics of Arylsulfonation of Arenecarbohydrazides with 4-Nitrobenzenesulfonyl Choloride in Organic Solutions

The kinetics of arylsulfonation of benzhydrazide and its ring-substituted derivatives with 4-nitrobenzenesulfonyl chloride in a series of binary organic solvents was studied. The effect of substituent in benzhydrazide on its reactivity is described by the HAmmett equation; the effect of the nature and composition of the binary solvent on the rate constant of reaction of benzhydrazide with 4-nitrobenzenesulfonyl chloride was explained in terms of specific solvation
