Synthesis and Properties of Metallic Silver in Porus Glass

Specific features of introducing silver nitrate in porous glass and its subsequent reduction with hydrogen to the metal were studied. The density, electrical conductance, and optical electronic dpectra of metallic intercalates wereconsidered. The experimental data and estimates based on them made it possible to distingusish the stage of growth and accumulation of metal clusters. The silver content corresponding to the transition to a close-packed surface monolayer was determined
