Where in the North West can you see top quality studio ceramics? Well, currently, some of the most innovative work is going on in the region's smaller museums and galleries. Gallery Oldham is a case in point. In recent years, Oldham has developed a reputation for high quality exhibitions, from home-grown thematic shows exploring natural form, urban landscape, and global politics, to selling and touring shows such as Northern Potters and the recent Gordon Baldwin retrospective. In 2008, in partnership with the Harris Museum and Art Gallery in Preston, Oldham secured a significant grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund to develop its permanent studio ceramics collection.
