摘要

MCM-41 mesoporous silica modified with N-propylsalicylaldimine by a post-synthesis method was prepared as a heavy metal ion adsorbent.These new materials have been characterized by elemental analysis,powder X-ray diffraction,nitrogen gas sorption,Fourier transformed infrared spectroscopy and thermogravimetric analysis.This organo-silica was used in the removal of heavy metals from aqueous solutions.Studies were carried out to determine the optimal experimental conditions for the retention of heavy metal ions.Metal-loaded adsorbent can be regenerated by acid treatment without altering the adsorbent properties.This material posses a high loading capacity and a high selectivity for copper ions over the nickel,zinc and cobalt ions.
