It also marked the start of a close friendship between them and a second career for Frankel.Cyril Frankel is best known as the director and creative force behind a distinguished list of films, television programmes, and documentaries. One of his most celebrated is a twenty-minute film in which Lucie Rie is interviewed in her studio by David Attenborough, a friend and collector, who famously holds on to her legs as she leans precariously into her top-loading kiln to inspect the results of a firing.
