Despite the present slowdown in our country, the number of the wealthy in India continues to rise and is forecast to touch new heights in the coming years, according to Credit Suisse's fourth annual report. With over 1.2 billion population, India is a great country and can well be described as a multi-ethnic museum with its conglomeration of such a lot of diverse cultures, languages and people. Of course, there is great disparity in the distribution of wealth between the rich and the poor. It may be interesting to know that 254,000 members of the top one per cent global wealth-holders are in India, or about 0.5% share. And surprisingly, there are about 800 people having wealth well over US$ 100 million.
