"Research is to see things as everybody has seen them but think in such a way which nobody has thought of. An agriculture scientist should think differently, at least occasionally, from the conventional way of thinking. Only then he/she could contribute something significant to the benefit of the society," said Dr. Soman in his thanks-giving speech immediately after receiving Tan Sri Dr. BC Sekhar Gold Medal.
