Maybe it is because labour is very cheap in India. Otherwise, what else could be the reason? Even after slavery has disappeared from the world, the sight of a driver or peon carrying the boss's food container (and sometimes even the mobile phone!) is very common in the country. Alright, you may stand justified to a certain extent in engaging a driver for your vehicle for maintaining your social status or owing to health reasons. Going beyond that is certainly ridiculous.
