Indian prices up as production falls short of demand

For the two months of June and July and in the first fortnight of August 2013, there was unprecedented rainfall in the major rubber growing belts of Kerala which accounts for 73.4% of the rubber planted area and 88.4% of the NR production in India. Torrential rains badly hampered rubber tapping, causing serious fall in rubber production.
