Pirelli to take over Russian plant

The Italian tyre maker Pirelli will take control of the former Amtel Tire's tyre plant in Kirov, Russia, by November 2012. The Kirov plant has an annual capacity for 7 million car and light truck tyres which should translate into annual sales of about $430 million, Pirelli said. The company plans to assume control of more production assets in Russia capable of about four million tyres a year by 2014.
