Because of their high weight-specific stiffness and strength, fiber-reinforced plastics (FRP) are finding increasing use in industry. The resin transfer molding (RTM) process holds great potential for economical mass production of fiber-reinforced structural components [ 1-4]. Resin transfer molding is one of the liquid impregnation processes where a dry fiber preform is impregnated with a liquid resin system under pressure and then subsequently cured under pressure and heat to yield a structural component [5].
