Large areas of the injection molding process are now operated via a graphical user interface. It gives factories the necessary flexibility to manage the high demands on the machine/ancillary interface in automated production cells. This requires intelligent and efficient communications: between the injection molding machine and all other equipment (Fig. 1) as well as between the production cell and staff. The Selogica user interface of Arburg GmbH + Co KG is specially designed to play a role in applications beyond those of directly controlling the injection molding process. For example, the graphical Selogica sequential programming can also be used for six-axis robots (manufacturer: Kuka).
