THIS IS NOT A NEW CAR. Actually, it's about the furthest you can get from a new car. Its V-12 was introduced in 1996 and was created by bolting together two Ford Duratec V-6s. The body looks the same and rides on Aston Martin's familiar VH architecture. There have been no changes to the suspension, steering, brakes, wheels, or tires. The only major modification to the Vantage S, the reason we're hustling it down Malibu's Mulholland Highway and along Encinal Canyon Road, is one that makes the car feel even older: a manual gearbox.
