Silver Island Mountain/Collecting at Wendover, Utah

I don't know how many times I've been across the Salt Flats west of Salt Lake City, but not until a recent trip did take time out to venture off Interstate 80. I had learned of a site just a stone's throw east of Wendover, Utah, during my winter studies of various rock hounding sites in the state. Now it was March, and I was about to discover its potential for collecting. Wendover is right on the Utah-Nevada border, and the Nevada side, now known as West Wendover, has grown by leaps and bounds during the past decade or two. Not to reveal my age, but I can remember when only a few buildings existed on the Nevada side, and one of those was a casino. They called the community East-Line, Nevada.
