摘要

The emerging field of Nanotechnology has become an important area and a major factor in the advancement of Science and Technology. In nanomaterials, due to the size and surface effects, the properties of nanoscale materials such Au nanoparticles or semiconductor nanoparticles such as CdTe are totally different from their properties in bulk. In electronics, nanotechnology makes devices smaller, cheaper and ran faster. In optics, nanotechnology improves optical device performances and makes luminescence much brighter and enables luminescence for some special applications. Along with other advantages, such as small size, water-solubility, good photo-stability, narrow emission bandwidth, and surface functionalities, nanoscale materials have a tremendous potential for practical applications.
