摘要

The aim of this work is to highlight the importance of the drinkable water in the district of Nosy-Be which is a touristic city in Madagascar. Water is also an important resource as well as on the standard of living of the population and the balance of the biodiversity. In this island, there are many lakes but most of them are not drinkable. We have tried, in this study, to know the physicochemical and microbiological characteristics of the water of the lake Ampombilava. All of the physical properties of the water respect the standards of World Health Organization, European Union and Malagasy State. The microbiological analyses show the presence of pathogenic organism like streptococci and aerobic flora. We have disinfected the water by adding chlorine with the Break Point method and we have found that 2 mg/l of chlorine is necessary to make the water drinkable.
