An Asian scenario of ROP is much different from the often quoted Western literature, and it was heartening to see the authors identify and diligently record the numerous risk factors mentioned in the study.

The article by Wu et al was of engaging interest. Their study concluded that the risk of developing retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) in infants of elderly mothers was higher in a retrospective matched case-control sample. However, I would demur on the conclusions in this study.
