KG-60-piperazine as an efficient heterogeneous catalyst for three-component synthesis of 2-amino-2H-chromenes

Silica-supported piperazine (KG-60-piperazine), as a mild and efficient basic catalyst, has played a role in the three-component reaction of some substituted benzaldehydes, malononitrile, and phenols, to yield the corresponding 2-amino-2H-chromenes. The catalyst showed general utility and reusability and was reused for four additional cycles without significant loss of its activity. Moreover, the effect of some reaction parameters such as catalyst mol%, reaction time, solvent, and temperature was investigated.
