Curable solid ink compositions

These compositions described contain ethoxylated octylphenol derivatives, and a method for production, that exhibit superior curing, shrinkage upon cooling hardness and scratch resistance. Hot melt inkjet inks typically operate at 120-140°C, but at such temperatures the dyes may undergo unwanted reactions. Repeated cooling and heating of the printhead requires a purging process to ensure optimum print performance. A benefit is seen with the described composition in terms of curing properties, print speeds and energy usage.
