European report on whole crop biorefineries

scientists of the Silsoe Research Institute and the Danish Institute of Agricultural and Fisheries Economics have worked together on a systems analysis and economic assessment of whole crop: biorefineries - locally based processing plants: designed toseparate and refine the components of agricultural crops. DBSRC lias a major programme supporting science and engineering underpinning the production of high value products from plants. This will provide a basis both for the provision of renewable sources of raw materials for manufacturing industries, and for providing tinners with new opportunities for diversification, particularly in non-food sectors.
