S+S detector provides 'last chance' protection

The new Protector-MF from S+S Inspection Ltd addresses the constant risk that feedstock contains metallic contamination. The device is able to pick up even the smallest particles, both with a magnetic and non-magnetic signature. The detector is mounted directly above the material infeed point and comprises a patented reject mechanism, detecting metallic impurities down to 0.5 mm in size. With a straight throughflow design to eliminate choking even with re-granulated material and equipped with highspeed separation options, the Protector-MF is said to keep loss of good material to a minimum. Specifically crafted to process slow-moving columns of infeed material, the equipment can fit standard 70, 100, 120 and 150 mm feed pipes, thus complementing the size ranges of the previous model catering for smaller feedstock.
