Nickel awakes from its slumber

Since Recycling International last reported on the nickel and stainless markets in late October, both have climbed to higher levels. In terms of stainless steel scrap, 304 material has advanced from US$ 1090-1140 per tonne to US$ 1140-1190 while the 316 quality has risen from US$ 1390-1440 to US$ 1470-1520. Chrome scrap values have also improved over the period to US$ 260-300 per tonne for 409 material and US$ 340-380 for the 430 quality.
