Conflict of interest disclosure in RSNA journals: adoption of the International Council of Medical Journal Editors Uniform Format.

The problems associated with conflicts of interest in biomedical research and scientific publications have unfortunately received considerable ongoing and widespread media attention over the past several years. Most recently, The Lancet was forced to withdraw a published report that linked measles, mumps, and rubella vaccinations to autism when it was discovered that the author and his research had been sponsored by a law firm engaged in litigation on the matter (1-3).
