Early success for BC kitchen waste program

Port Coquitlam, BC--Port Coquitlam reports early success for its curbside kitchen-waste program. Last month, the city became the first in Metro Vancouver to add kitchen waste to its green waste collection program. This followed a pilot program that showed that each household generated 2.5 kilograms of kitchen waste each week, representing about 16 percent of waste sent to landfill.
