Remembering Kenneth Bontrager

Each edition of Radiologic Technology incorporates a variety of resources, but from issue to issue certain names are a regular fixture within these pages. The Journal's authors and readers rely on these tried-and-true sources as essential references and as a foundation for new works that build upon the profession's body of knowledge.The field of radiologic technology lost one of these familiar names when Kenneth L Bontrager, MA, R.T.(R), a trusted author and colleague, died on January 6,2014. Bontrager joined the American Society of Radiologic Technologists in 1961 and was one of the most successful authors in his field. He is widely known for his Textbook of Radiographic Positioning and Related Anatomy, which was first copyrighted in 1982. Now in its eighth edition, published in February 2013, the book is available in many languages and remains a go-to reference.
