An overview is presented of Switzerland's master plan for agricultural research for the period 2013-16. Based on national and global developments and challenges as well as the current strategies and objectives of the Confederation, the research plan outlines the common goals and tasks of future agrifood research. It gives an overview of all actors involved in research, with their respective responsibilities, and proposes objectives and measures to strengthen research, innovation, knowledge sharing and technology transfer. The second part of the master plan defines more concrete tasks and the objectives of sectoral research of the Federal Office of Agriculture (OFAG).
