摘要

According to a report in the July issue of the Journal of the American College of Radiology (JACR), the Deficit Reduction Act of 2005 (DRA) has resulted in layoffs for radiology practices. The DRA cut Medicare reimbursement by placing a cap on payments for the technical component portion of nonhospital imaging services effective January 2007.The JACR article reports on a survey of 601 practicing radiologists. The radiologists reported that about 18% of their income was derived from technical component sources. Those who own outpatient imaging facilities and who work in nonacademic practices earn more from the technical component as a percentage of revenue than their peers.
