PHYTOTOXIC EFFECTS OF LEGUMINOUS TREE SPECIES ON FOOD CROPS OF GARHWAL HIMALAYA

摘要

A bioassay experiment was conducted to study the effect of top soil, rhizosphere soil, green leaf leachate and dry leaf leachate of two tree species viz. Albizia stipulate and Dalbergia sericea on germination and growth of four food crops. Irrespective of the crop, the influence on seed germination was not significant but adverse effect on growth and productivity was significant. Rhizosphere soil was more inhibitory than other treatments.
