Presentation of UIC annual report 2001: taking stock of activities undertaken by UIC

On 18th April 2002, the International Union of Railways (UIC) presented its Annual Report for the year 2001. At this occasion, both UIC Chairman, Mr. Etienne Schouppe, and Mr. Marton Kukely, Director General of Hungarian State Railways (MAV) and Vice Chairman of UIC, presented a paper in which they highlighted a number of key results achieved by international, UIC-led cooperation in the railway sector and future prospects, a summary of which is given in this article.
