UIC Conference 'Rail Vision, Projects and Perspectives for the Middle East', Amman, Jordan, 4 and 5 November 2012

On 4 and 5 November 2012, a high-level conference entitled "Rail Vision, Projects and Perspectives for the Middle East - Towards an Integrated, Competitive Rail Transport System", organised by the International Union of Railways (UIC), in close cooperation with Aqaba Railway Corporation (ARC) and Jordan Hedjaz Railway (JHR), was held in Amman, Jordan. The conference, which was coordinated by the UIC Regional Assembly Middle East (UIC RAME), chaired by Mr. Suleyman Karaman, President of Turkish Railways (TCDD), and held under the aegis of Mr. Alaa Al Batayneh, Minister of Energy & Mineral Resources and Minister of Transport of Jordan, was attended by 80 senior delegates from 10 countries.
