ROOTING RESPONSE OF SHOOT CUTTINGS OF SANDAN (OUGEINIA OOJEINENSIS (ROXB.) HORCHEUT) AS INFLUENCED BY GROWTH HORMONE AND SEASON

摘要

The propagation study on rooting of shoot cuttings in Ougeinia oojeinensis was carried under field conditions using five concentrations of IBA (0, 1000, 3000, 5000 and 7000 ppm) and two methods of application during spring and monsoon seasons. The spring planted cuttings rooted successfully whereas monsoon planted cuttings failed to root. IBA 3000 ppm was found to be most effective in inducing 36.11 per cent rooting in spring planted cuttings. Quick dip method gave better results compared to powder formulation method. '
