A field experiment was conducted during 1994-95 and 95-96 at R.B.S. College, Bichpuri, Agra to study the effect of cutting management, N and P fertilization on forage and seed yields of oat. Grain (31.66 and 28.94 q/ha) and straw yield (65.71 and 61.99 q/ha) were highest when no cutting was done during first and second year, respectively. When one cutting was taken at 55 DAS, yield exhibited parity with the highest yielding treatment but straw yield reduced significantly. The highest net return of Rs. 17,226/ha was recorded when cutting was done at 55 DAS and then the crop was left for seed. Green forage yield was the maximum in cutting at 75 DAS. Yields, yield attributes and net returns increased significantly upto a fertilizer dose of 100 kg N and 30 kg P_2O_5/ha.
