Space saving is key around the extrusion press. Novatec of Langley, British Columbia, Canada, has now developed a new stacking drawer oven that will double the chamber space in an area equivalent to that of a top load design die oven. This is particularly important with tooling less than 14 inches in diameter (or 355 mm), especially when multiple hot dies are required in a short time period. The compact drawer-style oven can process die and tooling weighing as little as 10 lbs. Novatec's infra-red heaters are designed to match the diameter of the die to give even heat distribution. The stacking chambers are manufactured in modules of two chambers, combined for multi-chamber design with each chamber holding one die. The drawers are electrically powered for smooth operation upon opening and closing. With the use of PLC technology, the controls are user-friendly.
