23~(rd) Design & Fabrication Seminar/Automotive Aluminum: Building a Better Car

Held on Wednesday, October 23, 2002 at the Laurel Manor in Livonia, MI, the 23rd Annual Automotive Design & Fabrication (D & F) Seminar, sponsored by The Aluminum Association's Automotive and Light Truck Group (ALTG), attracted an appreciative audience of more than 400 automotive design and engineering professionals and management. In no other venue can the automotive industry obtain so much information in one day about aluminum and its applications in vehicle structures and systems. The distinguished speakers and up-to-date presentations described below present a review of automotive aluminum technology and applications today with an eye toward vehicles of the future. Furthermore, the mingling of aluminum industry professionals with automotive attendees promotes technology transfer and a sense of camaraderie as evidenced by the avid discussions at breaks and lunch.
