Once again, the European Aluminium Foil Association (EAFA) chose three innovative products to receive awards in the annual Foil Packs of the Year competition and a fourth for a commendation award. The thirteen companies from nine European countries that participated provided products that imaginatively use aluminum foil to create packaging solutions.The winning EAFA Foil Packs of the Year - 2001 are: The gold and Mack compartmented, smoothwalled aluminum foil dishes developed by Alcan Deutschland break new ground in the packaging of chilled meals and are a direct challenge to the CPET alternative. These aluminum foil trays outperform their plastic counterparts in terms of strength, heat resistance, heat conductivity, and environmental acceptability.
