Since the beginning of the 20th century aluminum has been an essential metal in the aircraft industry with use in propeller blades, seats, cowlings, cast brackets, and similar parts.1 Aerospace products have been one of the main end user markets for aluminum over many years and have been used for "internal equipment" applications such as floor beams, seat tracks, seat frames, cockpit window frames, fittings, local reinforcing, or supporting structures.
