Hiroshi and Shinji Murata were well-known brothers who produced excellent Kohaku at Murata Nishikigoi Center, Yachimata, Chiba prefecture. One of their Kohaku won the Grand Champion of the 30th AJNPA All Japan Combined Nishikigoi Show in Tokyo in 1998, which built up the fame of Murata Kohaku. When the brothers started the koi farm, they didn't have enough finances. Some breeders and hobbyists around them helped the promising young farmers. Masao Kato knew them since they were elementary school boys.He was one of the collaborators of the farm and provided a parent koi to them. They tried hard to meet their expectation, and could returned their kindness by the success of the grand champion.
