According to Southern California Gas, as of Jul. 15, 18 of the 114 wells at its Aliso Canyon natural gas storage facility have passed state safety and well integrity tests

Of those 18, 15 have received a final approval from the California Division of Oil, Gas and Geothermal Resources. DOGGR established an eight-step check program for the wells after the field was shut down in October after the failure of a now capped and abandoned well. The company said all of its Aliso Canyon wells should pass required state inspections by the end of the summer, allowing a limited refill in advance of the heating season.
