The US Coast Guard has reported that two workers had to be rescued after escaping from a fire that broke out Sunday morning on a platform owned by Arena Offshore.

The oil production platform in about 257 feet of water about 50 miles off Grand Isle, Louisiana, had been shut in for about two weeks, the Coast Guard said. A spokesman for Arena Offshore said the men were not injured and a hospital visit was precautionary.
