Veresen has reached a preliminary 20-year agreement with Itochu for 1.5 million tons per year of liquefaction capacity at the Jordan Cove LNG facility at the International Port of Coos Bay in Oregon

The deal follows an agreement between Veresen and Jera announced Mar. 22 soon after Ferc nixed the project reasoning that a lack of customers would make it difficult to grant imminent domain to a supporting pipeline. However, the project can ask for reconsideration if it can show commercial need. Veresen has now concluded LNG sales of at least 3 million tons/yr (411 million cubic feet of gas per day).
