Southern California Gas said it could complete the safety testing of 115 wells at its Aliso Canyon gas storage facility near Los Angeles in time to resume injections by late summer

One of Aliso Canyon's access wells, drilled the 1950s, vented 100,000 tons of methane into the atmosphere from late October through mid-February before being sealed. State officials have ordered the storage site closed while SoCalGas tests all the field's wells.
