At the sale, the board awarded 20 leases covering more than 4,300 acres in eight parishes. The leases were in Acadia, Allen, Bienville, Cameron, Jefferson, Plaquemines, Sabine and Terrebonne parishes. Of the 20 tracts, seven were in North Louisiana in the Haynesville Shale while the remaining 13 were in southern parishes.
